A frame can be physically longer than the carriage’s stitchable area. Multiposition hoops reduce rehooping; they do not add travel to the embroidery unit.

Brother’s SE1900 support page states an 18 × 13 cm (7 × 5 inch) embroidery field and separately shows an extra-large multiposition-frame option. A long repositionable frame can help align multiple design sections without removing the fabric, but one unsplit 5 × 12 design remains outside the machine’s documented field. The design must be divided and stitched in separate aligned positions.
